You can choose what you want covered, for example you can have ASU - AS only or U only. 

There are different options in the choice of policy:  12 months cover - 18 months cover  or single premium  (example if you chose 12 months cover, from the date you make the claim the policy would pay for 12 months or until you return back to work, you reach 65 or you die).

There are also different options within the policy in respect of excess periods:  You can choose nil, 30 days or 60 days - This would determine when the policy would pay out.
